Protecting the environment is an essential part of every job. We understand the importance of maintaining erosion and sediment controls. Each of our superintendents is a Certified Land Disturber with the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation Board.
Our knowledge extends beyond basic erosion and storm control (E&S) measures. We are very familiar with Virginia's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements and the related inspections. Our experience in Storm Water Management includes simple retention ponds as well as underground storm chamber systems.
We are one of the leading underground storm water management contractors with experience in installing advanced stormwater solutions from Filterra, StormTech, StormTrap and Vortechnics.
Whether the site is half an acre or 150 acres, clearing, demolition, grading and drainage is no problem for Hudgins Contracting Corp. We offer clearing, grubbing, demolition, hauling and disposal services. We can handle large-scale crushed concrete stockpiles as well as large-scale grading operations.
We have some of the most skilled operators in the business at Hudgins Contracting Corp. Small jobsites have the potential to be the most complicated work areas simply because of the space limitations, but this isn’t a problem for our crews. Whether a large or small excavation is needed, Hudgins can handle the job accurately, safely, and on time.
Hudgins Contracting Corp. offers trained crews highly capable of installing water, sewer and storm water systems. Our crews are familiar with the differing codes in the municipalities within the area, and we have good working relationships with the City inspectors. We’re also very experienced with the more restrictive conditions sometimes encountered on the government installations.
Curb, gutter, swale, sidewalk, valley gutter, handicap ramps, dumpster pads, concrete entrances – we do it all. If there is site concrete on the plans, we can handle it. Let our experienced, dedicated concrete crew put our curb machine to use on your next project.
Finishing off your project will not be a problem for Hudgins Contracting Corp. We offer paving services, which include asphalt patch, seal-coating, parking lot striping, signs and bumper blocks.
LEED Participation and Building Green
LEED is short for Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design. This is a rating system developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The overall purpose of this system is to design buildings that are profitable for the Owners by being energy efficient and environmentally responsible.
The LEED rating scale ranges from Certified to Platinum. There are six key areas of performance that are rated: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation & Design Process.
Hudgins Contracting can handle your LEED project requirements. Our team understands the need for building green and the role it plays in conserving the environment. We also understand our role, as a contractor, in helping the Owner meet these requirements.
To assist us in complying with the USGBC requirements for each of our growing number of LEED-based projects, our team has implemented a system to track the LEED credits pertaining to our work on your project. We are able to provide documentation in a format similar to that used by the USGBC.

Design-Build Services
Hudgins Contracting is your top choice for design-build work, having successfully completed numerous public and private design-build projects.
We will work closely with you during the design process, to help “value engineer” your site for the best economic results. Regardless of what your budget is on a job, we will strive to find a way to meet it or beat it and will gladly meet with owners, engineers, and general contractors to review and suggest money-saving options.
