Hudgins Contracting Corp. believes in giving back to the community and lending a hand to those in need. We care by helping those less fortunate, caring for families in need, supporting those who are sick, and helping a child get an education. We get the greatest reward through helping others.
The Achievable Dream project has been an important organization in this community, helping at-risk children and youth reach their goals by getting a quality education and social foundation. Hudgins has been a proud sponsor of the Achievable Dream program since 2005, and Mr. Hudgins is currently on the Board.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Peninsula is a wonderful program for our area’s youth. It provides youth with academic, social and physical education programs in a creative and fun environment. Hudgins has been a proud sponsor since 2005.
Ferguson Center for the Arts brings some of the finest cultural attractions in the world to our community. Hudgins has been a sponsor of the Ferguson Center since 2005.
The United Way helps communities through (1) Education, by helping children and youth achieve their potential; (2) Income, by promoting financial stability and independence; (3) Health, by working to improve people’s health; and (4) Community Building, by encouraging individual and corporate participation. Hudgins is a long-time sponsor of the United Way.
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Hudgins sponsors the local chapter of the American Red Cross and has done so for many years. Besides annual donations, we have reached out in times of disasters to those in need after the Asian Earthquake Disaster Relief 2004, the Suffolk Virginia tornado of 2008, and Hurricane Katrina.
The Kiwanis Club, through guidance and example, works to develop future generations of leaders. Every day, Kiwanians are revitalizing neighborhoods, organizing youth sports programs, tutoring, building playgrounds, and performing other projects to help children and communities. Mr. Hudgins takes a personal interest in the Kiwanis organization as a member, and Hudgins Contracting supports the Kiwanis as well.
Relay for Life – American Cancer Society holds a very dear place in the hearts of our organization. Having employees who have been touched by cancer, Hudgins has committed resources for Relay for Life, matched employee donations, sponsored teams, and supports the American Cancer Society throughout the year.
The Peninsula Fine Arts Center is the premier arts advocate in the region working to create a stronger community through art. The center features dynamic changing exhibitions, thought-provoking educational programs, a year-round studio art school, an interactive gallery for children, evening mixers and family-friendly activities. Hudgins believes in the benefit of culture and art to the community and has been a long-time sponsor of the PFAC.
